Dodger Dowsing: Dodgers 5, Reds 4
No wins in a week? And this was supposed to be a playoff team? No matter, nobody else in the NL West seems to want to go to the postseason either, with nobody really tearing off to an insurmountable lead (though 4.5 games this late in the season is starting to look awfully dicey). Nevertheless, the Dodgers (2-8) were one of only two teams in the division to have a losing record over their last ten, the other being the Giants (4-6).
The wonder was the Dodgers pulling it out after the thing got into extras, on the road no less, with Furcal's solo blast providing the difference. That they scored first wasn't lost on the faithful, some f whom who seemed inappropriately named of late...
Three of the Dodgers' five runs were the result of sac flies. Still not the greatest circumstance, but ... a win? Yes, a win.
