The Angels (And Indians) Are Boring

Or so we would surmise by reading today's Daily Fix column in the Wall Street Journal ($). Stephen Grocer talks about how suddenly the pennant races in the AL are interesting again now that the Red Sox are swooning and the Yankees are soaring, which is really just another way of saying that baseball stops west of the Hudson River.

The worst thing is, the 'pennant race' has become no more interesting with the Yankees pulling closer, given they're both going to qualify for the post-season regardless.

The AL has been sadly lacking in drama this year - it's clearly the NL which is the one to watch, and indeed, it's all I'm taking note of this year....

I thought it was the Dodgers' bad August that killed them, but looking at their schedule splits, it's pretty clear they didn't show up from June on. Jesus.
