Pickoff Moves

Dodgers, M's, Padres Could Play Exhibition Games In China

I was going to say what a lousy idea this was when I thought it was the season opener, but if it's just spring training exhibition games, maybe not.
The games would be played during the second week of March, two baseball officials familiar with the planning said Wednesday, speaking on condition of anonymity because the trip was still in the planning stages.
Wait, I take that back — it is a lousy idea. The first week of spring, and then back to Florida?

Smartasses In The Press Box

Apropos

I heard this one on the air yesterday but forgot to pass it on: apparently some of the wags in the press box recalled Andy Garcia's relatively forgettable 1995 flick, Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead. It seemed apropriate at the time, anyway...

Comments:
Hudson has been pretty damn good. Beane was fleeced on that one...

I would consider the Mulder and Hudson trades as a wash.

Hudson was terrible and injured last year. He's been pretty good this year (130 ERA+), but I'd call that close to a wash. He still has a couple years on his deal with Atlanta, IIRC.
