Eight! Dodgers 12, Rockies 7

There's one fearful thing about playing at Colorado, and that's you can never feel safe with any lead there. Once the Rocks tied it up in the third, it was, well, okay, we have to see where this thing goes, but the Dodgers got the lead back in the fifth on James Loney's three-run blast, and that was that, more or less. Loney drove in six in this game, and actually had a shot in the eighth to tie his own record of nine (set on September 28, 2006) when he came up to the plate with two men on and one out; he struck out, instead. There'll be other chances, I'm sure.

Russell Martin started at third again. On the one hand, I applaud Torre for taking this kind of a chance to give his star catcher a "day off" and keep his bat in the lineup, but on the other, is he allergic to giving Chin-Lung Hu a chance at the hot corner?

Incidentally, the Dodgers' eight-game win streak is the longest active streak in the majors, putting the Blue Crew only four games back of Arizona.
