Arredondo: (L, 1-1) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 2.40 ERA
Marlins affiliate Albuquerque won this one in extras, ironically enough on a 12th-inning rally started by a Dallas McPherson single and a Paul Hoover homer off Jose Arredondo. Nick Green got a 5-2 lead at the end of four but didn't close out five frames. Kendry Morales had a monster day at the plate with three doubles and three RBIs. Shortstop Gary Patchett also had a fine day, going 3-for-6 with a home run.
2008-05-06: Arkansas 6, Springfield 7 #
Smith, Cor: 2-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Duff: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Rodriguez, Fe: (L, 1-4), 4.0 IP, 7 R, 7 ER, 10 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 7.47 ERA
Brandt: 4.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 0 BB, 4.60 ERA
Arkansas rallied to make it 3-2 in the second, but Springfield came right back with another two in the bottom of the frame, pulling away with two more in the fourth. Corey Smith homered in the loss, a leadoff homer in the top of the second.
2008-05-06: Inland Empire 2, Rancho Cucamonga 9 #
Bourjos: 3-5, 1 HR, 4 RBI
Kendrick: 3-3, 2 HR, 2 RBI
Trumbo: 0-4, 1 K
Walker: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Toussaint: 2-3
Phillips: 1-3, 1 K
Herndon: (W, 2-3), 7.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 8 K, 1 BB, 5.29 ERA
The 66ers were unfortunate enough to encounter a rehabbing Howie Kendrick in this one; Howie seems to be fine for a return to the big club judging by his results tonight, a pair of solo homers and a single besides. After reaching on that single, he also stole second and scored thanks to a throwing error by catcher Carlos Santana and a fielding error by Trayvon Robinson. The 66ers seemed to have come unglued that inning following Brian Walker's leadoff homer.

Timothy Sexton gave up all but two of the runs surrendered by Inland Empire pitching (one of those unearned thanks to the aforementioned play). David Herndon pitched a quality start plus with eight strikeouts, his second win of the season and by far his best outing.

2008-05-06: Peoria 3, Cedar Rapids 4 #
Fuller: 1-3, 2 BB, 1 K
Romine: 1-4, 1 BB
Gronkowski: 2-3, 1 RBI
De Los Santos: 1-4
Gonzalez-Lopez: 2-3, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K
Reckling: 6.0 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 5 BB, 4.11 ERA
Towns: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Brasier: (S, 7), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1.04 ERA
Cedar Rapids notches their 16th win with this one, with Trevor Reckling posting a precarious quality start; five walks and six hits, but six strikeouts. Jordan Towns made his Kernels debut and acquitted himself well, getting his first win in relief.

2008-05-06: Memphis 2, Las Vegas 8 #

Troncoso: 1.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 8.22 ERA
Andy LaRoche was good, and thanks to a five-run fifth, the 51's go home a happy team.

May: 2-4, 1 RBI

Sierra: (S, 2), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 5.40 ERA
A tremendous game by James McDonald, who struck out a season-high nine batters while allowing no runs, earned or otherwise, and retired the side in order in three of his seven frames.

Comments:
Wouldn't Sean Rodriguez be the one to head back to SLC when Kendrick is reactivated?

Wood should be on the roster to fill in while Figgins is out of action.
