Scores

2008-05-12: Round Rock 3, Salt Lake 8 #
Coon: 2-5, 1 2B
Brown, D: 3-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Wood: 1-5, 2 RBI, 3 K

Budde: 2-4, 1 2B
Austen: (W, 1-1), 7.2 IP, 3 R, 3 ER, 8 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 2.04 ERA
Brandon Wood wasn't too impressive in his first game back in the minors, coming one whiff away from a golden sombrero, though he did drive in a pair on a bases-loaded RBI single. David Austen got his first PCL win of the season for a quality start plus. Most of the scoring happened in the five-run sixth, an inning that included a single that was ruled a trap by former Angels prospect Nick Gorneault; this later resulted in the ejection of Express manager Dave Clark.

Bell: (L, 3-3) (in relief), 4.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 3.60 ERA
Dustin Moseley made his first rehab appearance with the Quakes, and by his line it was a successful one, striking out six in 3.2 innings of work. The Quakes couldn't get their offense going, and Trevor Bell took the loss in relief.

For Inland Empire, some very nice pitching by starter James Adkins and Javy Guerra, who four-hit the Quakes. Josh Bell homered, a solo shot in the sixth, and his fifth of the season.

2008-05-12: Cedar Rapids 3, Kane County 4 (12 innings) #
Fuller: 2-5, 1 K
Contreras: 2-6, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI

De Los Santos: 1-5, 1 RBI, 1 K

Brasier: (L, 0-2) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 0.93 ERA
That game-losing unearned run on Ryan Brasier? Shortstop Jerry Gonzalez-Lopez's fault. Both sides made two errors each, and both sides gave up an unearned run.

2008-05-12: AZL Angels did not play
2008-05-12: Nashville 1, Las Vegas 4 #

Falkenborg: (S, 5), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 6.11 ERA
Las Vegas trailed 1-0 at the seventh inning stretch, having been befuddled by Chris Narveson for 5.2 innings. Steve Bray gave up two in the bottom of the seventh on John-Ford Griffin's two-run homer, and Angels' Old Friend Derrick Turnbow, who accepted a AAA assignment last week, gave up two more.

Hammes: (L, 1-3) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 8.37 ERA
The Minotaur just came unglued in the bottom of the fourth, allowing the first four batters to reach, a stolen base, and a wild pitch, too. Too bad, because otherwise it was a good offensive outing for the Suns.
