Paul Konerko, Brad Penny, And Bartolo Colon All Hit The DL
Bad Day For Injuries Dep't: Via David Pinto, ex-Dodger Paul Konerko (strained left side during batting practice), current Dodger Brad Penny (sore shoulder), and ex-Angel Bartolo Colon (stiff lower back) have all hit the disabled list.
Konerko (B-Ref page) was hitting .215/.322/.368 with eight home runs and 30 RBIs at the time he went down; he was also the target of a number of rumors three years ago as a possible free agency solution to the Angels' offensive problems. Meanwhile, Casey Kotchman has posted a line of .298/.346/.441 with six homers and 32 RBIs this year.
Bartolo Colon had a 4-2 record with a 4.09 ERA in six starts and 33 innings with Boston.
