Hello, Old Friend: Indians 5, Angels 2
It's not that Ervin Santana pitched badly (four runs over seven innings is pretty good, really) so much as the offense didn't do a whole lot off of former teammate Paul Byrd, mostly scraping a lot of singles and stranding runners everywhere. Some days, you just have to be able to hit the longball — like Cleveland did. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Gary Matthews, Jr. was in the lineup and went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts, stranding three. Maicer Izturis stranded five, and was Fangraphs' blame of the game.
