Mariners Release Richie Sexson, Disable Eric Bedard
The fruit of Bill Bavasi continues to be dealt with by the new administration in Seattle, as the Mariners have released Richie Sexson and placed Eric Bedard on the 15-day DL with a stiff shoulder. The M's have called up RHP Jared Wells and INF Tug Hulett from AAA Tacoma to fill the roster spots.
U.S.S. Mariner wonders why Sexson (who could at least hit the odd homer) was DFA'd over Jose Vidro, the team's principle DH.
The Mariners owe Sexson about half of the $14M remaining on his contract.
