Angels Disable Izturis And Other Roster Notes
- The Angels placed Maicer Izturis on the 15-day DL with a sprained thumb. Kendry Morales got the callup from AAA Salt Lake to replace him on the roster.
- The Yankees DFA'd former Mariner first baseman Richie Sexson, and optioned Melky Cabrera to AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The Yanks purchased the contract of Cody Ransom and called up reliever Brett Gardner. Also, the Yanks sent Dan Giese to the DL with shoulder tendinitis, and replaced him with RHP Chris Britton.
- Rays closer Troy Percival has gone on the 15-day DL with a sprained knee.
- Update: The Rangers activated Kevin Millwood from the DL to make tonight's start. To make room, they sent down RHP Luis Mendoza (8.13 ERA, 3-6) to AAA Oklahoma.
