Reggie Willits made his first rehab appearance with Rancho, getting a hit in three at-bats as the leadoff man before being replaced in the sixth by Anthony Norman. Wil Nieves homered in a game that the Quakes steadily gained traction in, pulling together a two-run fifth off Efren Navarro's bases-loaded single to put the game away.

The 51's led all the way and had a shutout going through seven, but Heath Totten stayed in four batters too long and the Sky Sox got back into the game with a five-run eighth. Blake DeWitt and Rene Rivera both homered twice, and both drove in four.

Yhency Brazoban made his first appearance at AAA since June 5. He had been at the GCL Dodgers on July 7, and made two one-inning starts with the Dominican Dodgers on August 14 and 18. Here, he recorded his first save of the year at this level.
