Tech: More On FiOS
- The remote has a PIP button that does nothing. A brief discussion with FiOS tech support yields no answers, other than it isn't currently supported.
- The FiOS support tech insists on asking for my phone number after I had already confirmed it with the robo-voice. Irritating. (TW also did this. Why is this so common? Does nobody actually use their own service?)
- The tech support menu pushes you through an unhelpful voice support maze that doesn't allow you to ask questions of a human without going through a series of tasks wholly unrelated to my problem (anyway). However, they do allow you to talk to a human if you sit there and push the 0 button enough times.
- We're having picture dropout issues on our downstairs DVR. This isn't good, but I expect it may be due to heat problems; the Time-Warner DVR we had before in that spot also had this kind of trouble, and we ended up fixing it by shuffling components. It may be necessary to get a fan in our equipment stack, and/or installing shelving so that there's more space between units.
