Saunders Stumbles, Billingsley Bumbles, Rivera Rips: Angels 5, Dodgers 4

Neither starter was sharp, though Chad Billingsley was better than Saunders save for a three-run sixth. I missed the first five innings saying good bye to a long-time coworker at a bar with a neon sign that said BAR and little else, but I understand many a sparkling defensive play was made by both sides. Outside of a bases-loaded walk in the first, three of the four Dodgers runs were scored on home runs, a fourth-inning solo shot by James Loney and a two-run jack in the next inning by Rafael Furcal.

Guillermo Mota gave up a solo homer to Juan Rivera in the eighth and that was the game, save for another nervous save by Brian Fuentes.
