Well, DePodesta has his own metrics for analyzing defense? Not like we didn't know it, but a data point, nonetheless.

I was shocked by that too, Vishal. Maybe "catcher's ERA" is DePo code for one of those "proprietary defensive metrics", and not the CERA we all know? At least that's what I hope, or else my DePo fantasy will have been shattered!
I also have a hard time believing Jeff Kent "basically neutral" by any defensive metric. But that's just boring GM speak.
