Rangers Release Pedro Astacio
The Texas Rangers released Pedro Astacio. Astacio had been DFA'd earlier in the month."Our goal with Pedro was to bring him here, have him have a successful year and leave our young guys in the minors most of the year -- if not all year," Hershiser said. "The secondary goal was that if Pedro didn't make it back and wasn't successful, then our young guys would have a third or a half of a season in the minors and would be able to push him out or push others out. So we had to go with the secondary plan."The former Dodger had a 2-8 record with a 6.08 ERA with the Rangers in 2005.
