Milton Bradley Likely Done For The Year

According to Vinny, Frank Jobe has inspected Milton Bradley's knee and diagnosed an 80% tear of the patellar tendon (IIRC), incurred during an attempt to leg out an infield single in his first and only at-bat of Monday's game against Florida. Jobe recommends season-ending surgery, and Bradley is looking for a second opinion.

Update: now on AP.

Comments:
and think, he could have instead torn his tendon going from second to home on kent's hit.

Bill James once had a comment about hustling and how giving your all, even to the point of injury, was fine in football, which they only do sixteen times; but in baseball, which is played every day, you had to pick your spots.

I didn't see the play, but every time I hear sneerings about "hustle" I think of that comment.
