An Offer That Won't Be Acted On
Via The Juice, I understand that Anna Benson has made an offer to her husband, Kris, a series of sexual favors in exchange for his winning the Cy Young Award. I can't imagine she'll be stocking up on suitable assistance for that activity any time in her lifetime (or mine), and so conclude that she's merely making noise to get her name in the paper, as she does so often. Like rebates, some offers are made with the express notion that they won't be acted upon, but I wonder whether she gives partial credit for a third-place finish.
