Casey Ate The Bats: Blue Jays 4, Angels 0

Somewhere in this favored land the Angels have managed to get a hit before; I know this because I've seen them do it, as recently as yesterday. But for now, the Halos have made a capital-S Statement against the Jays, and that statement is
Thank you sir, may I have another?
It was a good thing to see McPherson at least get a single in today's action; it was as much as any Angel managed, the only other hit being Robb Quinlan's meaningless single. The Angels have done their part to make the Jays look good, not that they needed much help, what that they're a game and a half back of the now-tied Yanks and Red Sox. Annoyed as I always am with the Yankees and their swagger, just out of sheer boredom with the endlessly identical finishes in the AL East, I wouldn't mind it if the Jays came out of nowhere and trounced the both of these teams. Toronto doesn't have the endless bucks to pay for free agents — er, wait, what was I saying? Since the Jays signed his contract, the Canadian dollar has moved up another nickel or so in buying power relative to the U.S. Dollar. I, for one, welcome our new Canadian overlords... or not. Whatever, if Janssen was smart, he'd be asking for his paychecks in CAD.

Regardless, Huntington Beach native Casey Janssen was just murder on the Angels; am I the only one who thinks he looks startlingly like 70's teen heartthrob, Shaun Cassidy? Nothing went right for the Angels: former Blue Jay Kelvim Escobar gave out hits like speeding tickets at the Indy 500, and Chone Figgins screwed up in centerfield, with only a generous scorer preventing him from having five errors in five days.

Yeah, I know, they're not this bad. I'm just waiting for it to end; that won't happen against Roy Halliday, tomorrow's pitcher.

Recap

Comments:
What makes you think they aren't this bad? I'm pretty well convinced.

The rookies won't (a) be down all year, or (b) be bad all year.

I'd say a young Will Ferrell.
