Scores

2006-05-01: Las Vegas 4, Salt Lake 7 #
Aybar, E: 1-5, 1 2B
Willits, R: 2-4
Murphy: 0-2, 2 BB
Morales: 1-3, 1 BB
Gorneault: 1-3, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Napoli, M: 1-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 2 K
Pride: 1-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Moseley: (W, 4-1), 5.0 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 3.21 ERA
I'd forgotten these guys were going to see each other again this soon. Somehow Moseley got another start after pitching only one inning on Saturday's rainout. Guess what: he wasn't terrible, although given what the 51's were putting out there, that doesn't say too much about his future, especially not with that low strikeout total and all those hits and walks.

Offensively, Mike Napoli did his three-true-outcomes thing over the fence, while Dallas McPherson got the night off against righty Juarez. Salt Lake apparently snuffed out a Las Vegas rally in the fourth with a line drive to Kendry Morales that turned into a triple play when he threw to second, where CF Jon Weber caught Delwyn Young off the bag.

2006-05-01: Arkansas 8, Corpus Christi 5 #
Peel, A: 1-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB, 1 K
Wood: 1-4, 1 BB, 1 K
Brown: 3-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Eylward: 1-5, 1 RBI, 2 K
Aspito: 2-4, 1 BB
Del Chiaro: 1-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Porter: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI
Smith, J: (W, 2-1), 7.0 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 4.67 ERA
The Travs scored in six of the nine innings played in this game, while getting two-run homers from unlikelies Brent Del Chiaro and Gregory Porter.
2006-05-01: Rancho Cucamonga 6, Lancaster 10 #
Leblanc: 0-3, 2 RBI, 3 BB, 1 K
Sandoval, F: 1-3, 2 RBI, 3 BB
Rodriguez, S: 2-5, 1 K
Collins: 1-5, 1 RBI
Pali: 3-4
Toussaint: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Rodriguez, F: (L, 2-2), 4.2 IP, 8 ER, 8 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 1 HR, 5.40 ERA
Torres: 2.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 2 K, 2 BB, 4.72 ERA
Fernando Rodriguez didn't make it out of the fifth and generally got shelled; Joe Torres, returning from injury, looks to be still injuring the team with those numbers. Ouch.
2006-05-01: South Bend 0, Cedar Rapids 6 #
Coon: 2-4
Statia: 1-3, 1 2B
Renz: 2-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 K
Wipke: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 K
Trumbo: 0-4
Morris: 3-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI
Mosebach: (W, 2-0), 8.0 IP, 0 ER, 7 H, 6 K, 1 BB, 1.52 ERA
A fargin' shelling of South Bend by Cedar Rapids; Mosebach had a pretty good outing, fanning six through eight innings. South Bend made three errors, and two of the Kernels' runs were unearned.
2006-05-01: AZL Angels did not play
2006-05-01: Orem did not play
2006-05-01: Las Vegas 4, Salt Lake 7 #
Aybar: 1-3, 1 BB
Ethier: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Guzman, J: 0-2, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Loney: 1-4
Young, D: 2-4, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 K
Juarez: (L, 1-2), 4.0 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 4 BB, 1 HR, 2.96 ERA
Kuo: 1.0 IP, 1 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 9.00 ERA
Delwyn Young had a pair of homers; in an earlier version of this post, I incorrectly said he was the team leader in home runs, but that honor actually belongs to Willy Aybar, with six. (The comment in the MILB.com game wrap was unclear.) Bad news for Kuo, who's walking batters in Vegas, too.
2006-05-01: Jacksonville 9, West Tenn 3 #
Hu: 1-6, 2 K
Abreu: 2-5, 1 2B
Kemp: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 1 RBI
LaRoche: 2-5, 1 RBI
Zapp: 3-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Ruggiano, J: 3-4, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Raglani: 1-4, 1 2B, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Miller: 1-1
Lundberg: (W, 3-1), 5.0 IP, 3 ER, 8 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 2.10 ERA
Miller: (H, 2), 3.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 0.00 ERA
I can't tell if this is a duplex start using a pair of relievers or if West Tennessee starter Randy Wells got chased after three innings (and only one earned run). Whatever, Matt Kemp had one of the best offensive days he's had in a while, ending a single short of the cycle and extending his hitting streak to 16 consecutive games. A.J. Zapp and Justin Ruggiano, both a couple guys just below my threshold for making the watchlist, went 3-4.
2006-05-01: Palm Beach 5, Vero Beach 6 #
Rohan: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI
Dewitt: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Denker, T: 1-3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Paul, X: 3-4, 1 RBI
Hoffmann: 2-4
Pimentel: 5.2 IP, 2 ER, 5 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 4.05 ERA
Hammes: (BS, 1)(W, 2-0) (in relief), 0.1 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 3.06 ERA
Akin: 2.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 0.56 ERA
Too many hits, but the Dodgers won anyway.
2006-05-01: Asheville 9, Columbus 6 #
Pedroza: 2-4, 2 RBI
Sutherland: 3-5, 1 2B
De Jesus: 1-1, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB
McDonald: 4.0 IP, 4 ER, 3 H, 5 K, 3 BB, 1 HR, 4.15 ERA
Sanfler: (BS, 1)(L, 0-3) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 4 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 4 BB, 6.46 ERA
The Catfish continue to scuffle.
2006-05-01: GCL Dodgers did not play
2006-05-01: Ogden did not play

Comments:
IIRC, 51s' Young is Delwyn, not Delmon the umpire hitter.

Willy Aybar has six homers.

...and Joel Guzman has five homers.

The HR counter on the box score is screwed up, then. And, I got fooled by this passage in the game wrap:

Young homered to center off Wilhite in the ninth and finished 2-for-4 to lead the 51s (16-9), who have dropped two of three.

Looks like an impressive outing for Greg Miller - 3 IP, ERA still at 0.00. Maybe we'll see him in L.A. soon?

15 innings and no earned runs -- I overlooked that. He's doing well, but his injury history tells me they'll want to keep him in the minors for a while. He also got knocked around pretty hard in spring training last year (9.00 ERA, in limited service, 3.0 IP), and even worse this year (11.25 ERA, 4.0 IP). ST doesn't tell you much, necessarily, but I'd be willing to be they go with him later in the season. If he can keep this up, maybe sooner.
