Dodgers Purchase Einar Diaz From Indians, Other Roster Notes
- The Dodgers have purchased catcher Einar Diaz from the Cleveland Indians. Diaz has spent his entire season at AAA Buffalo, where he hit .218.
- Former Dodger Willy Aybar has a broken hand, incurred during his debut game with the Braves.
- Bartolo Colon thinks he'll be back to form by spring training.
"My velocity is going to come back. I have no reason to doubt," he said. "I've seen guys that have gone through this before. I'm not going to tell you that I'm going to throw 99, 100 (mph), like I used to do with the Indians, but my velocity is going to be where it has been the last couple of years with the Angels."
- Update: for the Cubs-minded (this would mostly mean my better half), Mark Prior has been put on the DL (also via ESPN) for the third time this year. Here's an interesting Bleed Cubbie Blue diary from someone transmitting thirdhand intelligence from the USC training staff that would seem to indicate Prior had arm problems even then, but were kept in check by virtue of his only having to throw on a weekly basis.
