Minor League Scorebook
News
- Ninth-rounder Nate Boman has signed with the Angels, for an unknown bonus. Boman had unspecified shoulder problems that kept him off the mound for the USD Toreros this spring; he is foregoing his junior year to join the Angels. The 21-year-old holds the school record for K/9 (11.09), and acted as their closer last year; he just missed the NCAA minimum (48 IP) to be counted among the league ERA leaders. He was also invited to the USA Baseball National team, and was previously drafted by the Angels in the 39th round as a prep standout at Patrick Henry High.
- The Texas League finals are over in only three games as Astros affiliate Corpus Christi swept Midland, the AA affiliate of the A's.
- Here's a playoff preview for the Pioneer League. Orem will be trying for its third straight title, and the fifth straight year the team has played for the Pioneer League championship.

Casper beat up on Bobby Cassevah for six runs in the first, including a Jay Cox three-run jack that capped a traumatic inning for Cassevah, who allowed three walks, a hit batter, and a single besides that frame alone. Carlos Colmenares, formerly of the AZL Angels, got his first RBI as an Owl. The loss was shortened to five innings by a power outage, and marked the final regular season game for Orem. The Owlz move on to Idaho Falls for the first game of the Divisional Series on Friday.

Raglani: 0-4, 2 K
Dewitt: 0-3, 1 K

Wright: (L, 0-1) (in relief), 0.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 H, 0 K, 1 BB, -- ERA
Spike Lundberg had a solid but unspectacular outing, allowing three of the four runs scored by the Biscuits in the top of the seventh. Wesley Wright allowed a walk to Reid Brignac to load the bases with on the only batter he faced. Brignac became the winning run, and thus did Wright earn an infinite ERA in the postseason, and the loss as well. Former Sun Justin Ruggiano drove in the winning run on a ground-rule double. Tydus Meadows homered in the loss; the Suns are now 0-1 in the best-of-five series.
