Padres GM Kevin Towers To Interview Bud Black
It's official, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune; Padres GM Kevin Towers has asked for permission from the Angels to interview Bud Black for their managerial position vacated when Bruce Bochy accepted the job in San Francisco.
On Tuesday, Towers plans to interview St. Louis Cardinals third-base coach Jose Oquendo. On Thursday, he is to interview Trey Hillman, who managed the Nippon Ham Fighters to the Japan Series championship this year.In all, the GM has about eight candidates in mind and said he'd like to hire a manager within two to three weeks.
