Joe Saunders was good but Justin Germano was better, picking up his fourth win in this contest, while Saunders got tagged with his first minor league loss of the year. Chris Resop and Greg Jones each pitched a scoreless frame in relief.

The Travs very nearly rescued a defeat from the jaws of victory when Tulsa rallied for seven runs to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth, a catastrophe incurred by Jose Arredondo and Rafael Rodriguez, who between them retired three batters. Arredondo walked the first two batters he faced, loaded the bags with a Christopher Frey single, and walked in a run. Rodriguez was then brought in, and gave up an RBI single to Tomas Duenas; he then plunked Corey Wimberley to load the bases and proceeded to walk Jonathan Herrera to give up yet another run. Fortunately, Bobby Wilson hit a two-out solo homer in the top of the tenth, and Miguel Gonzalez made the lead hold up.
Lost amidst all the late-innings hullabaloo was Nick Green's fine performance, providing seven innings of four-strikeout, one-run ball.
Statia: 2-6, 1 K
Reilly: 2-5, 1 K
Butcher: 7.1 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 6 H, 6 K, 0 BB, 0.78 ERA
Jepsen: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 2.57 ERA
Incinelli: (L, 0-1) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 3.00 ERA
Another extra-innings extravaganza, the Jethawks won this one in the 13th when shortstop Hainley Statia threw away Zachary Daeges' grounder with men on first and second, allowing Ryan Khoury to score the winning run. Pat Reilly got the Quakes out of the frame when he caught a lineout double play, but Rancho's offense wasn't up to the task in the bottom of the frame.
Brok Butcher pitched another beautiful game; every start so far has been a quality start, and he's 1-1 with two no-decisions including today's. This was his longest game of the season, and so far, he's only surrendered three earned runs.
Trumbo: 0-3, 1 BB, 2 K
Perez: 1-2, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Mount: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Martinez: 3-3, 1 BB
Haynes: (L, 1-2), 4.0 IP, 6 R, 5 ER, 8 H, 1 K, 5 BB, 5.59 ERA
Arredondo: 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 4.32 ERA
Browning: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 1 BB, 5.00 ERA
Well, so much for Trumbo's hitting streak.
Clinton drove in three in the first off Jeremy Haynes, who had a really bad outing today, including a wild pitch that allowed leadoff batter Craig Gentry to reach in the first, and a throwing error that let him score two batters later.
Julio Perez had a solo homer in the effort, and Brett Martinez had a perfect day at the plate.
Bigbie: 3-5, 1 K
Loney: 0-4, 1 BB
Kemp: 0-3, 1 K
Young: 1-3, 1 RBI
LaRoche: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Miller: 3.0 IP, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 H, 4 K, 6 BB, 2.61 ERA
Lundberg: (L, 1-2) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 7.71 ERA
Gonzalez, L: 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 K, 3 BB, 1.74 ERA
Hoorelbeke: 2.1 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 1 HR, 6.75 ERA
Greg Miller had a very rocky outing, walking six over only three innings, and hitting Antonio Perez; it's amazing he only gave up two runs, one earned. Miller walked the first two batters in the top of the fourth, a prelude to a three-run inning that decided the game; Spike Lundberg came in to replace him, and then catcher Ken Huckaby dropped a foul pop that extended the inning and eventually allowed Perez to walk. Second baseman Sergio Garcia contributed an error that allowed Lou Merloni to score, but Lundberg eventually settled down and restored order.
Matt Kemp had an opportunity in the bottom of the seventh to catch up to the River Cats with one out, but he popped out with the bases loaded, and Delwyn Young grounded out to third.
Kemp somewhat redeemed himself defensively in the top of the eighth. With Lou Merloni at third and Sacramento rallying on a Hiram Bocachica solo home run, a Daric Barton double, and a Donnie Murphy Double, Antonio Perez hit a fly ball to Kemp. Kemp caught the ball, and fired to the plate, where he nailed Merloni, thus getting an inning-ending double play.
Paul: 1-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Lindsey: 3-4, 1 2B, 3 RBI
Raglani: 0-2, 2 BB
Concepcion: 3-4
Gonzalez, J: 2-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Juarez: (W, 3-1), 5.0 IP, 3 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 4 K, 3 BB, 4.03 ERA
Riley: 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 5 K, 1 BB, 1.80 ERA
Hammes: 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 0.00 ERA
Xavier Paul hit his third homer in four games on the way to a thumping of the Montgomery Biscuits. John Lindsey hit a bases-loaded double in the four-run fourth; he now has 20 RBIs and is tied with Montgomery's Reid Brignac for the Souther League lead.
William Juarez got the win, giving up three runs (one earned) over five innings. Zach Hammes pitched a pair of scoreless innings in relief.
Dewitt: 0-4
Denker, T: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 K
