Bookends: Angels 10, Pirates 1
Kelvim Escobar turned in a fine, dominating performance, and the Angels got yet another win to get their 48th, most in the majors. The Angels got five runs in the second and five more between the seventh and eighth innings to seal the deal, escaping a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the eighth on a lineout double play to Escobar.
Gary Matthews, Jr. pulled up lame in the bottom of the third and won't play in today's game, though he's not considered to have a long-term problem.
There's not much to say, except "Just another Halo victory."
Bartolo Colon will go for the sweep today, though I doubt he's up to it. Now that I think about it, maybe I shouldn't bother going to the yard.
