Scores

2007-06-13: Colorado Springs 5, Salt Lake 6 #
Murphy: 1-4, 1 3B, 1 RBI
Izturis: 0-0, 1 BB
Wood: 1-4, 1 2B, 1 BB
Evans: 1-4, 1 RBI, 1 K
Eylward: 2-3, 1 BB
Gorneault: 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Brown: 2-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Pavkovich: 2-3, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Gwyn: (W, 1-0) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 1.36 ERA
Catcher Ryan Budde drove in two runs going 1-for-2 with a double, a walk, and a sac fly out of the eight hole. Utility bat Mike Eylward had his third multi-hit game in four days, the first game of which (June 8) which put an end to a five-game 0-fer streak. Tommy Murphy's eighth inning sac fly was the game winner, which made Marcus Gwyn the winning pitcher. Oddly, thanks to the bizarre and incomprehensible rules governing the statistic, he did not get a save.
2007-06-13: Arkansas 3, Tulsa 2 #
Rodriguez, S: 0-5, 1 K
Porter: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Wilson: 1-5, 1 K
Collins: 2-4
Fuller: 2-2, 1 BB
Adenhart: 7.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 H, 5 K, 2 BB, 3.36 ERA
Hunter: (W, 1-1) (in relief), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 0 BB, 6.00 ERA
Edwards: (S, 2), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 3.73 ERA
A very good game by Nick Adenhart, whose indifferent strikeout rate makes me think increasingly he'll end up a 3-4 starter — not that there's anything wrong with that. He missed a win by one inning, and so Christopher Hunter ended up pulling that down in his third appearance this year with the Travs.

Freddy Sandoval's ninth-inning RBI double was the game winner, and Greg Porter got his fourth homer of the year, a solo shot, and doubled and scored a run.

2007-06-13: Rancho Cucamonga did not play
2007-06-13: Cedar Rapids 3, Beloit 1 #
Pettit: 2-2
Trumbo: 1-3, 1 2B
Sweeney: 1-3, 1 HR, 3 RBI, 2 K
Phillips: 0-2, 1 K
Schoeninger: (W, 9-2), 5.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 H, 5 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 2.67 ERA
Browning: (S, 5), 2.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 3.74 ERA
Matt Sweeney was the Kernels' offense in this seven-inning doubleheader, blasting home Chris Pettit and Mark Trumbo on a three-run jack in the fourth. 23rd-round draftee Tim Schoeninger continues to roll along unmolested by other teams' offenses, and when will we get to see him at Rancho?
2007-06-13: Cedar Rapids 2, Beloit 7 #
Ortiz, W: 2-3
Trumbo: 1-3, 1 K
Conger: 1-3
Phillips: 3-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI
O'Sullivan: (L, 4-4), 4.1 IP, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 H, 3 K, 1 BB, 2.82 ERA
Madrigal: 0.2 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 H, 1 K, 2 BB, 3.95 ERA
Mark Trumbo has a .272/.313/.437 line. Great it isn't, but he's far from the total bust some were saying he was earlier. Hank Conger went 1-for-3 and is hitting .333/.417/.524 in June. If only Sean O'Sullivan and Warner Madrigal had been able to prevent that ugly six-run fifth.
2007-06-13: Orem did not play
2007-06-13: AZL Angels did not play
2007-06-13: Las Vegas 10, Tucson 6 #
Valdez: 3-5, 1 RBI
Ruan: 2-5, 1 2B
Young: 3-5, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 RBI
LaRoche: 1-4, 1 BB
Freeman: 2-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
Lindsey: 2-4, 2 RBI, 1 BB
Maza: 3-4, 2 2B, 1 RBI
Huckaby: 2-5, 1 RBI, 3 K
Houlton: 5.0 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 8 H, 0 K, 0 BB, 1 HR, 3.73 ERA
White: (BS, 5)(W, 1-4) (in relief), 2.0 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 4.19 ERA
Hoorelbeke: (H, 5), 1.1 IP, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 H, 0 K, 2 BB, 5.66 ERA
Nary a whiff for D.J. Houlton, who allowed four runs, three earned thanks to a first-inning error by catcher Ken Huckaby. The big five-run fourth was the main event as far as scoring went for the 51's, seeing doubles by Delwyn Young, Choo Freeman, and Luis Maza; Wilson Valdez was picked off second to end it. Young went 3-5, missing the cycle by a home run.
2007-06-13: Jacksonville 4, Montgomery 0 #
Paul: 1-4
Hu, C: 0-4
Concepcion: 2-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Orenduff, J: (W, 2-2), 6.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 3 H, 3 K, 2 BB, 4.40 ERA
Troncoso: (S, 1), 3.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K, 1 BB, 2.93 ERA
Six innings of shutout ball from Justin Orenduff got him the victory, with Jacksonville scoring single runs in four seperate innings. Between Orenduff and reliever Ramon Troncoso, the Suns posted a four-hitter. Alberto Concepcion, Jr. hit a solo homer, his fifth of the year.
2007-06-13: Inland Empire 8, Bakersfield 7 #
Dewitt: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 BB
Denker, T: 1-2, 3 BB
Mitchell: 3-5, 1 RBI, 1 K
Harper: 2-5, 1 2B, 2 RBI
De Jesus: 1-2, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 2 BB
Castillo, J: 5.0 IP, 4 R, 2 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 2 BB, 4.25 ERA
Meque: (BS, 1)(W, 2-1) (in relief), 1.2 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 7.77 ERA
Felix: (S, 2), 1.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 H, 2 K, 0 BB, 2.70 ERA
A nail-biter for the 66ers, who led through five with a 4-0 score going into the bottom half of that frame, but then the Blaze roared back to tie it. Inland Empire posted the winning run in the top of the ninth on an Anthony Harper double, keeping the team tied for the lead in the Cal League South Division.
2007-06-13: Lansing 3, Great Lakes 7 #
Rivera, J: 2-3, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB
Giles: 2-4, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Bell: 1-4, 1 3B, 2 RBI
Mattingly: 2-4, 1 K
Apodaca: 2-4, 1 K
Kershaw: (W, 7-2), 7.0 IP, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 H, 8 K, 2 BB, 1.89 ERA
Another gem by Clayton Kershaw, who returns after a scheduled off game. Lansing scored all three runs in the top of the ninth off reliever Michael Gardner. Juan Rivera homered in the bottom of the 6th, a two-run shot that cashed in Juan Apodaca.
