Pitcher's Duel Ends In Russian Roulette: Rays 2, Angels 0

A great, tight ballgame with both Jon "Judy" Garland and James Shields trading zeroes through eight (and Shields made it nine for the one-hit, CG shutout victory). Unfortunately for the Angels, former Dirtbag Evan Longoria showed why he was the highest drafted player in Long Beach State history by blasting one off Justin Speier over the left field fence for a walkoff two-run shot.

The only other thing of real note in the game was Erick Aybar getting hit by a pitch on the hand; X-rays indicated he's got a bone contusion and is day-to-day, which likely means we'll see more of the Quinlan-3B, Wood-SS configuration until Howie Kendrick returns next week... and the sooner, the better.
