Scoreless In Seattle: Rangers 5, Mariners 0

I caught part of this on XM on the way home... the Mariners haven't scored a run in 20 innings going back to their 10-1 loss to the Rangers on Tuesday. Kason Gabbard left the game (for reasons unknown as of yet) after Richie Sexson charged the mound following an inside pitch, leading to Sexson's ejection. Felix Hernandez had previously hit two batters, so the sense that it was retaliatory was perfectly reasonable. The Rangers currently lead 5-0 in the top of the ninth with one out and Ian Kinsler on second.

Update: Texas didn't score, and neither did Seattle, as the only baserunner the M's got was Miguel Cairo's two-out infield single. That makes 22 zero frames the M's offense has posted since Tuesday.

The AP recap has more on the brawl:

Richie Sexson charged the mound and flung his helmet at Rangers starter Kason Gabbard after the left-hander threw a pitch eye-high to him in the bottom half.

Both benches cleared, but no punches were thrown. Sexson was ejected.

Gabbard was not, but was removed two batters later with what appeared to be a leg injury and relieved by Franklyn German (1-0), who pitched 1 2-3 innings.

Good a place as any to put this, but OF Brad Wilkerson was given his unconditional release today following his DFA on April 30.
