Mariners Fire Manager John McLaren
Only last September re-signed to a one-year deal along with Bill Bavasi, the Mariners have fired manager John McLaren; bench coach (and ex-Dodger bench coach) Jim Riggleman will run the team as interim manager. McLaren took over last year just before the All-Star break when Mike Hargrove abruptly resigned. Interim general manager Lee Pelekoudas has not announced a bench coach.
