A's Catcher Kurt Suzuki Raising Funds For Fellow Ex-Titan Jon Wilhite
A word in the San Jose Mercury-News that Oakland catcher and ex-CSUF Titan Kurt Suzuki is raising funds to help with Jon Wilhite's rehab:
Catcher Kurt Suzuki got to visit his former Cal State-Fullerton teammate Jon Wilhite, the lone survivor from the April 9 car crash that killed Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others. Wilhite underwent brain surgery shortly after the accident and is gradually recovering.Wilhite survived an internal decapitation in the accident, an injury that is almost always fatal."You want to see him get better, as a friend," Suzuki said. "The more I talked to him, I saw his personality come out again."
Suzuki and his wife, Renee, are raising funds for the Jon Wilhite Recovery Fund.
