The Dodgers couldn't hold a 3-1 lead after two, and promptly found themselves on the wrong end of a thumpin'. Randy Wolf only lasted three and a third innings; Cory Wade and James McDonald gave up three homers and five runs in the fifth to really put the game out of reach.
Matt Kemp hit a three-run jack in the eighth to make it closer, but the Dodgers weren't able to get past the Chisox bullpen to make further progress. Kind of a bloody mess, really.

Let us first dispense with some of the obvious. Scott Feldman has, in his career, pitched some zero frames as a starter against the Angels, but he has
only once previously won any games against them as a starter, the last being, coincidentally, his last game facing them,
September 27, 2008 in Anaheim. The Angels had long before clinched the division, Santana had a relatively rare home implosion, and therefore Mike Scioscia made copious switches in that game. That's not to say that Feldman won by virtue of facing a B team squad; all the regulars got two or three at bats.
But for anyone complaining that Jered Weaver was left in too long (as the Lyle Spencer intro on the Gameday summary page said), I have to ask, did you really want the bullpen in there?
The team barely hit, Weaver did what he could, and the wheels fell off. If the Angels want to look like contenders again, this .500 squad will have fix the bullpen and get some pop. Emergency hacks like DHing Mike Napoli isn't going to cut it. It's time to get serious, and if that means trading one of Erick Aybar or Maicer Izturis, well, they moved Jose Molina, didn't they?

Just a horrible game for the Mets at home, whose fans must have been booing vociferously. Three errors yielded nine unearned runs, a number that hasn't been tallied since
the Angels gave up nine unearned runs against Cleveland on June 3, 2006. (For those who care,
here's my recap of that execrable game. At least the Angels
clobbered the Tribe the next day.)
