A Lowe Blow(job)
Derek Lowe and "friend"
Anchor-reporter Carolyn Hughes has been taken off Dodger coverage at Fox Sports West during an investigation of her relationship with pitcher Derek Lowe, the pay site Ron Fineman's On the Record reports. Neither Lowe nor Hughes would comment to Fineman, but Lowe's wife Trinka had plenty to say. She told Fineman that she tipped Fox about her husband having an affair with Hughes and staying overnight at her place in Manhattan Beach. Both Lowe and Hughes insist to her they are just friends, but Trinka says "he wanted me gone when he came back from the next road trip." The Lowes have sold their Beverly Hills home and Trinka has moved back to Florida. Fineman runs a series of uncredited (and unexplained) photographs he says show Lowe and Hughes together on Wednesday. Hughes hosts the Dodgers pregame show, "Dodgers Dugout."Get the big contract and the World Series ring, and look out below. At least it gives us a reason for why he's been so distracted on the mound lately. (And yes, relevant to the discussion in the comments above, Hughes is from Texas.)

For what it's worth, I think Carolyn Hughes (and Lindsay Soto for that matter) are pretty hot.

However hypocritical it might be, is this a ground for LA to void Lowe's contract on "moral" grounds? I'm not sure if such a clause still is in the standard player contract.

Call me old fashion, I can't remember a Dodger anytime during his career as a Dodger, caught cheating on his wife. (Garvburger doesn't count because all of that stuff didn't happen until he was in San Diego.)
I've had the opportunity to ride the elevator from the Club Level down to Field Level two years ago with Carolyn Hughes. She is a really beautiful looking gal.

I'll take a woman you could trust over one that you can't anyday.
As far as I'm concerned, she's a skank. Lowe is also an idiot, and frankly, I wish the Dodgers hadn't of signed him, especially when even his wife says that he didn't want to leave Boston.
I'm sure BorASS has the PR crew working extra hours on this one to spin it in Lowe's direction.
You don't just leave your wife and kids because some skank wants to bang you. If your going to be a scum, go do it privately, but don't leave your wife and kids to do it.
I guess he's never heard of the word, concubine!
I hope the dodgers get rid of him. I really do. And I hope FOX gets rid of Carolyn Hughes too. Send her back to Bushville.

I am glad Trinka is strong and not sitting home crying. She is doing a good job of having Caroline and Derek hang their heads low. I hope she gets on many more Los Angeles Radio Shows!!

I guess Derek does like women from Texas.... he was with a STELLAR blonde (made Hughes look dumpy) when the Dodgers were in Houston last month. I wonder if Hughes knows Lowe is already cheating on her, too?

Derek Lowe pulled through heroically for the Red Sox under extreme pressure in 2004 and I will always be proud of him. Family problems are very common and should be very private because you never know the whole story. -Red Sox Nation
