Pickoff Moves

Helen Says, Thanks Nomar: Dodgers 6, Astros 2

Speaking of fading stars, when we got to Angel Stadium last night, who did we find with a game-winning grand slam — in the ninth, yet? No one other than Nomar Garciaparra, that's who. That's Nomar, helping the Cubs and the Dodgers at the same time. Maybe things come together a little for the Dodgers this year, eh?

Roster Notes

Comments:
Ortiz also has no fastball to speak of anymore. A Roid pitcher, perhaps?

Wasn't it sweet how Nomar hit hs grand salami with wife Mia Hamm in the stands last night?

If it wasn't for Mia - would Nomar still be in Boston? Crazy question I know - a blog in and of itself...

Ortiz has an even worse contract than what you posted. Counting this season (since it's only a few week old) the D'Backs owe the fat tub of goo $23M over the 3 years.

Wow, I didn't see his '08 salary on Hardball Dollars. Ouch.
