Nation, Schmation

Maybe the scalpers are planning on selling their season tickets in the postseason, but will many actual season ticket holders? I doubt it, which negates the point of this Times story intimating that sufficiently large numbers of Angels fans won't show up to the postseason game(s) to be held presently in Anaheim. All of Dave McKibben's premise rests on the rather flimsy fulcrum of this paragraph (emphasis mine):
If the regular season is any indication, Angels fans might end up being more loyal to their wallet than their beloved Halos. During a three-game series in August, Angels supporters say, Boston fans nearly outnumbered them. Although most first-round series tickets range from $15 to $125, they are selling for as much as $1,500 each on EBay and StubHub. Season-ticket holders will be even more tempted to cash in.
I know I'm not selling mine.

Going to someplace pleasant like Orange County to watch a game, got to the beach (with a warm ocean) and go to Disneyland? It might be worth a little extra change...

WTF would go to Boston to watch the game. It's like watching the game in a closet with an migrant family on your lap.
